Bible Bites

In this page you will find a collective study of the Bible ever since this blog was incepted. My knowledge of the Bible is rusty at the best of times so I would appreciate and consider any feedback you may have. I will also post here some questions that come up for me during my Bible reading. Feel free to attempt an answer (some of them may have none) through the comments. Most would likely have an easy answer anyway, but if you can think of better questions to ask, comment as well.

Old Testament [OT]

Genesis

1-11 B’reshiyth בְּרֵאשִׁית

  • Does Satan have any literal offspring (3.15)?
  • What is the mark of Cain?
  • What is the land of Nod?

Answer: CEV translates this as the land of Wandering.

  • What is the purpose of offerings and sacrifices (especially for Cain and Abel)?

Answer: The CEV says that the smell of sacrifices is what pleases the LORD (The BIG Rescue Bible, p. 690), but for what purpose did people sacrifice to God before the regulations for sacrifices were set?

  • How does the “demand [for an] accounting” [9.5] play out?
  • As a Filipino, I had eaten dinuguan before I became a Christian. Was this wrong?
